How to build your own Connection Manager profile with VPN-Q 2006 integration


A:
 VPN-Q 2006 includes the Client Setup Package builder which fully automates the creation of a Connection Manager connectoid. You can also manually create your own Connection Manager connectoid to work with VPN-Q 2006 which may include other custom settings.

To include VPN-Q 2006 into an existing Connection Manager connection profile:

  1. Add the following files to the setup package:
  • licence.xml - Available in the C:\Program Files\VPN-Q 2006\ folder on the VPN server.
  • vpnqc.exe - Available in the C:\Program Files\VPN-Q 2006\ folder on the VPN server.
  • rqc.exe - Available in the C:\Program Files\Cmak\Support\ folder on the VPN server.
  • update.log - Create a new empty file with this name, this allows for a clean uninstall.
  1. Add the following Pre-init connection action within the CMAK wizard:

VPNQC.EXE /selfupdate

  1. Add the following Post-connect connection action:

VPNQC.exe %ServiceName% %TunnelServerAddress% %Domain% %UserName% %ErrorCode% %ServiceDir%

 

Note: Winfrasoft are unable to support any custom Connection Manager profiles. If you experience connectivity issues please install the client created by the VPN-Q 2006 Server Administrator to test connectivity BEFORE contacting Winfrasoft for support.
