Problem: When troubleshooting
X-Forwarded-For for ISA Server / TMG it is sometimes required to enable debug
logging. Debug logging is disabled by default but can be enabled / disabled by
running a script which is included with the installation media.
To Enable Debug logging:
- Create a C:\Logs folder. Note, the "Logs" folder must be located at the
root of drive C:.
- Ensure that "Network Service" has Full Control rights to the C:\Logs
folder.
- Run the following script from the XFF installation media -
scripts\LoggingOn.js
- Restart the Microsoft Firewall service.
- Create web traffic and restart the Microsoft Firewall service
again to flush the log data.
- Log files will be created in the C:\Logs folder.
To Disable Debug Logging:
- Run the following script from the XFF installation media -
scripts\LoggingOff.js
- Restart the Microsoft Firewall service.
- Archive the log file in the C:\Logs folder (if required) then remove the
