Problem: The VPN-Q 2006 clients
may display a reminder notice stating "The Free Edition of the VPN-Q 2006 Client
will expire on the 31sts December 2007. There are XX days remaining." on
Standard and Enterprise Edition.
Cause: An issue has been found which causes all editions of the VPN-Q 2006
client to display the notification instead of only the Free Edition Clients. The
notification message does not hinder the functionality of Standard or Enterprise
Edition.
Solution: To resolve the issue
upgrade the VPN-Q 2006 client to SP3 Update 3 in which this problem has been
resolved. The update can be installed via the auto update engine or can be
downloaded here.
More information:
The Free Edition of VPN-Q 2006 is set to expire at the end of 2007. Starting 1st
October 2007 the VPN-Q client will begin to display a reminder notice that the
client will expire at the end of the year. The notification is initially
displayed approximately 1 out of every 5 times the VPN Client is loaded, and
increases in frequency as the end of the year approaches. The notification
should only be displayed on Free Edition clients however prior to SP3 Update 3
it was erroneously displayed on all Editions of VPN-Q 2006.
