In order to use RSA SecurID two factor authentication with VPN-Q 2006 you will
require one of the following updates depending on which service pack is
currently installed:
To determine which Service Pack you are currently using
click here. It is recommended to upgrade to the latest service pack at all
times.
Note: Winfrasoft has tested VPN-Q 2006 with version 5.6 and
6.1 of the RSA EAP client.
Installation process on the VPN Server:
- Rename the existing
C:\Program Files\VPN-Q 2006\client.exe file to
client backup.exe to make a backup
copy.
- Extract the client.exe file
from the downloaded ZIP to the
following folder: C:\Program
Files\VPN-Q 2006
- Create a new Client Setup
package. The new setup package will contain the RSA EAP configuration.
Installation process on the VPN Client:
- Install the RSA EAP client (supplied by RSA).
- Install the VPN-Q 2006 RSA SecurID client connection.

Establishing the VPN connection:
- Double click the VPN connection.
- Enter the Windows login details and click Connect
- The RSA logon will appear, enter the RSA username and passcode and click
OK.
- The VPN should be established and the VPN-Q 2006 client will load and
run its checks.

Known Issues:
Once the first connection is established, the VPN connection icon in "Network
Connections" (Windows XP) may move from the "Connection Manager" section to the
"Virtual Private Networking" section and the VPN-Q icon will disappear. This
change is made by the RSA client and is not something that Winfrasoft is able to
rectify, however, this does not affect functionality.
