 Which Anti-Virus products have been tested with VPN-Q 2006 and Winfrasoft VPN-Q 2009?

A:
 The products listed in the table below have been tested with VPN-Q 2006 and Winfrasoft VPN-Q 2009. Any product which correctly registers itself with the operating system via WMI should be automatically detected even though it is not on this list. VPN-Q 2006 and Winfrasoft VPN-Q 2009 has been tested with the top 10 AV products of 2006, 2007 and 2008.

If you have an AV product that is not detected by VPN-Q 2006 or Winfrasoft VPN-Q 2009 please email support@winfrasoft.com so that we can work towards including support for the product. If your product is detected but isn't on this list please let us know.

* McAfee VirusScan 12.1.110 and Norton Antivirus 2009 has been tested on Windows Vista RTM and was detected correctly, however it was not detected on Windows Vista SP1. McAfee VirusScan 12 does not appear to correctly register itself with Windows Security Center on Windows Vista SP1 and thus is not detected by VPN-Q. A future build from McAfee or Norton may correct this issue. To work around this issue either remove SP1 for Windows Vista or replace McAfee VirusScan with a fully compatible Windows Vista SP1 product. We will continue to work with the AV vendors and Microsoft to resolve this issue.

If your product is detected Windows Security Centre it does not necessarily mean that it will work with VPN-Q, however, over 90% of products do work correctly automatically. Some AV products are detected by Windows security centre via a manual detection method incorporated by Microsoft, these product are not detected by VPN-Q unless Winfrasoft has explicitly added support for the products. It is up to the AV vendor to add the WMI support required by the operating system and some vendors have chosen not to do so. All AV product that have been given manual support in VPN-Q 2006 and Winfrasoft VPN-Q 2009 are listed in the above table with the "Detection method" listed as Manual.
