Winfrasoft AuthCentral delivers three
authentication solutions in one: PINgrid,
PINphrase and PINpass. In addition, the built in
Self Service Password rest functionality can
significantly cut help desk calls. AuthCentral
is a
revolutionary, patent-pending, multi-factor
authentication solution which solves the
common weaknesses of passwords and the pain of
traditional tokens. It removes the need for
users to
carry proprietary key fobs and
remember/store/enter multiple passwords or PINs
thereby reducing cost and complexity, whilst
increasing security. Users have the flexibility
of using a device they already carry with them
all the time for strong authentication.
Authentication is
provided in both 1.5 factor mode where a
challenge is displayed directly on a
login web page, and a 2 factor mode
via an off-line soft token or SMS/TEXT message
- both
removing the need for a traditional physical
token.

PINgrid 2 factor
With a traditional 2 factor token, the “something
you have” can be used by anybody who is in
possession of it - not just its intended owner.
Furthermore the “something you know” (the
4 digit PIN) is divulged in full during each
login. With PINgrid, the “something you have”
can only be used by the assigned owner and is of
no use to anybody else, even if they have
possession of it. Furthermore, the “something
you know” is never divulged and remains
private during a login. As such, PINgrid is a true
“something you have” & “something
you know” solution.
AuthCentral plug-ins
Winfrasoft AuthCentral includes various plug-ins
for 3rd party solutions to simplify deployment.
More plug-ins will be made available over time,
however version 2.5 will have the following
available at launch:
- IIS 6.0 and 7.x
- Forefront TMG 2010
- Forefront UAG 2010
Self Service Password Reset
Because the AuthCentral provides a high security token it could not be a better proof of
identity to authorise the resetting of a forgotten AD
password. The Winfrasoft AuthCentral Self Service web portal enables
users to reset their AD passwords after proving
their identity.
